Bhubaneswar: Taking into consideration the rise in the number of accidents on the flyover along the National Highway (NH) in Bhubaneswar, the Khurda district administration has made the use of helmet mandatory for those driving two-wheelers.
In a notification, Khurda Collector, B.S. Punia directed the police and the regional transport officers (RTOs) to conduct a 24-hour checking on the flyover from Khandagiri to Rasulgarh from Tuesday and book any person driving a two-wheeler without a helmet.
The checking of all two-wheelers on the NH flyover will continue for a month, the notification said.
