Drone Intercepted Over Puri Jagannath Temple; Operator From Cuttack Detained

Puri: Police have intercepted and seized a drone flying over Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri, averting a potential security violation in the no-fly zone surrounding the sacred site.

According to police sources, the drone was spotted hovering in the temple’s parikrama area on Wednesday evening. Following which, a joint team comprising personnel from Singhadwara police station undertook an operation near Dolamandap Sahi and Jahnimundia areas, where the drone was brought down and seized.

Speaking to the media, Puri SP Prateek Singh identified the individual operating the drone as Madhusudan Sarangi (25), a resident of Cuttack. “He has been detained for questioning and a case has been registered under Section 10 of Aircraft Act at Singhadwara police station,” he added.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the drone flight and whether any footage was captured.
