Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 caseload in Odisha dropped further on Saturday as 4852 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, the lowest since April 20 when 4761 new cases were reported.
The state had reported 5235 and 6097 fresh infections on Friday and Thursday respectively.
There also has been a slight drop in the daily test positivity report (7.22 per cent) with these new cases being detected from 67122 samples sent for tests. It was 7.97 per cent the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 2765 are from quarantine and 2087 local contact cases.
The highest of 649 cases have been reported from Khurda, followed by Cuttack (505), Jajpur (382) and Balasore (364).

The state now has 62515 active cases. The number of COVID hotspot districts (red zone) has dropped to 9 while 12 are under the green zone.
