London: Indian President Droupadi Murmu met Samia Suluhu Hassan, the first female President of Tanzania, at an official reception at the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, ANI reported.

Murmu, who is the second female President of India after Pratibha Patil, arrived in the UK on Saturday and paid her respects to the departed personally and on behalf of her nation.

Murmu met King Charles III at the Buckingham Palace on Saturday and attended the Queen’s Funeral Service at Westminster Abbey on Monday morning (3.30 pm to 4.30 pm IST).

The ceremonial procession then took the Queen’s hearse from Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle where she will be laid to rest at St George’s Chapel.

The foreign Heads of State and other overseas dignitaries didn’t travel to Windsor, where the Queen’s family members including King Charles III and other British VIPs bid the Queen a final farewell.
