Bareilly: A 27-year-old man was seriously injured after being allegedly pushed off the terrace of a five-star hotel by a businessman and his son in an inebriated state, police said on Monday.
Sarthak Agarwal, the injured man, is undergoing treatment in a hospital, reported PTI.
Police have registered a case against the father-son duo and are making all-out efforts to nab them.
Sarthak had gone to attend an engagement ceremony at the hotel on Saturday evening, said his father Sanjay Agarwal, a businessman dealing in chemical supply.
Textile businessman Riddim Arora and his father Satish Arora were present at the same function, police said.
Late at night, the Aroras in an inebriated condition allegedly abused Sarthak and beat him up when he objected, according to police.
They then pushed Sarthak off the terrace, leaving him seriously injured. They also tried to push his friend Nandikar when he tried to save Sarthak.
The victim’s father claimed that Riddim kicked and punched his son even after he fell unconscious and tried to shoot him dead.
Izzatnagzar SHO Jaishankar Singh said an FIR was registered against the accused duo based on Sanjay’s complaint on Sunday IPC sections of attempt to murder, assault and intimidation.
A raid was conducted to arrest the accused father-son duo on Monday, but they were not found at their home.
The entire episode was captured in CCTV cameras in the hotel premises.
