Bhubaneswar: A female tourist was arrested by police on Monday on charges of attacking some police personnel in an inebriated state near Bhubaneswar railway station here the previous night.
According to reports, the woman misbehaved with a police team during patrolling and even abused them.
Following her arrest, Kharvel Nagar police recovered an Aadhaar card bearing name Duniya Khan of Lajpat Nagar in South Delhi, cash and a liquor bottle from her possession.
Though the identity of the woman is yet to be established, police suspect her to be an Uzbekistan national.
“While an Aadhaar card with Delhi address was found with her, her identity is still suspicious. She is not cooperating in the interrogation. We are trying to establish a link to trace her details with support of the Aadhaar card,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
The young woman is being forwarded to court today, he added.
