Berhampur: A youth allegedly beat his father to death in an inebriated condition for money at Lathi village under Berhampur Sadar police limits in Ganjam on Wednesday night. The deceased father has been identified as Abhi Nayak and the accused is Simanchal Nayak.
According to sources, Simanchal had a quarrel with his father over money, when he was drunk. When his father refused to give him money, Simanchal attacked him with a wooden plank, killing him.
He was trying to flee from the spot when neighbours caught him and handed him over to the police.
