Bhubaneswar: The dry run for COVID-29 vaccination began in Odisha on Saturday.
The dry run will commence simultaneously at all 30 district headquarters hospitals, Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Pradipta Mohapatra informed after inaugurating a COVID-19 vaccination centre at Capital Hospital here.
Mohapatra said the dry run is conducted to ensure smooth vaccination after the rollout of a vaccine. He also said there will be 25 health workers posted at each vaccination centre.
Asked if the Covishield vaccine has arrived in Odisha, Mohapatra said the Centre will take a decision in this regard.
“As the Centre has granted permission to the Odisha government for the procurement of the vaccines, we hope that they will be received very soon,” he added.
