Dhenkanal: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday apprehended the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in-charge of Sadar police station in Dhenkanal district while allegedly receiving Rs 30,000 bribe.
The DSP in-charge has been identified as Abhinav Dalua.
The Vigilance team laid a trap and caught the DSP while he was allegedly accepting the bribe from a coal transporter.
The transporter allegedly paid the DSP Rs 15,000 on August 24.
A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and simultaneous searches have been launched at eight locations to ascertain disproportionate assets. The places where searches are being conducted are:
* Plot no 32/34, Ramchandrapur, Jatni, Khurda
* Four places in Dhenkanal
* Paternal house in Meghadambaru, Balasore
* In-laws’ house in Jharbeda, Turumunga, Keonjhar
* Native place at Narasinghpur, Cuttack
