New Delhi: Ducati has unveiled its adventure-tourer motorcycle, the Multistrada 1260 and Multistrada 1260 S.
The 1260 is priced at ₹15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) the 1260 S is priced at ₹18.06 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices are introductory and will remain same for 2018 only.
The 1260 S gets additional full-color TFT instrument display, electronically managed semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension and Brembo brakes with M50 monobloc four-piston calipers.
The Multistrada 1260 gets a new 1,262 cc L-twin Testastretta DVT engine that produces 158 bhp power and 129.5 Nm torque at 7500 rpm.
“Eight years of Multistrada innovation has led to the production of this masterpiece, directed to expand every adventure enthusiast’s comfort zone with its versatility,” explained Sergio Canovas, Managing Director, Ducati India.
“The new Multistrada 1260 range is a consummate sport-touring adventure bike, designed for those who hope to ride greater distances and enjoy a good rev around twisty roads. The Multistrada 1260 and 1260 S is a testament to our commitment to bring the best of Italian design, engineering and performance to Indian roads,” he added.
The Multistrada is loaded with gizmos such as ride-by-wire throttle, a Bosch inertial measurement unit (IMU) that is used to control the eight-level Ducati Wheelie Control. For safety, Ducati has equipped the Multistrada 1260 with cornering ABS and traction control. The S variant gets additional Ducati Quickshifter and cornering headlamps.
Service intervals are long, oil changes are required at 15000 km.
The Multistrada 1260 will go head-to-head with the Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx (₹ 17 lakh ex-showroom) and the BMW R 1200 GS (₹ 15.70 lakh ex-showroom) in India. Deliveries are expected end of this month.
