Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Suryakant Pradhan has got a ‘promotion’.
Named No. 1 stand-by in the East Zone squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy, the 29-year-old medium-pacer is now part of the official squad that will travel to Bengaluru for the zonal competition.
Pradhan replaced Mukesh Kumar in the squad after the Bengal pacer was selected in the Team India party for the upcoming tour of the West Indies.
Pradhan will be the second Odisha cricketer in the East Zone squad, following the selection of opener Shantanu Mishra.
East Zone will open their campaign in the quarterfinal against Central Zone, with the five-day fixture to be played at Alur from June 28.
