Bhubaneswar: Multiple teams of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) food safety wing on Saturday conducted raids on eateries near puja pandals in Bhubaneswar over allegations of irregularities.
According to sources, a large quantity of stale and adulterated food items were destroyed by officials during the raid.
The BMC teams conducted checks at food stalls near Rasulgarh, Nayapalli, and Baramunda puja mandaps and seized stale food items and those prepared with artificial colours and adulterated material.
The vendors have been warned to ensure that they adhere to the Corporation’s guidelines on sale of fast food.
A BMC official said that strict action will be initiated against vendors who violate the guidelines related to sale of prepared food.
