Patiala: Sprinter Dutee Chand from Odisha clocked 11.57 seconds in women’s 100m to win gold medal in Indian Grand Prix being held at National Institute of Sports, Patiala. The sprinter, who was on break since January with a broken wrist, however, failed to touch the qualifying mark of 11.26 seconds for the Commonwealth Games.
In long jump, Odisha’s Purnima Hembram clinched bronze medal with 5.99m. Nayana James bagged gold in the event and a direct entry to Gold Coast Games with 6.47m.
In men’s 100m, sprinter Amiya Mallick from Odisha finished sixth after clocking 10.96 seconds.
