Bhubaneswar: Two women sprinters of Odisha, Dutee Chand and Jauna Murmu on Tuesday qualified for the 18th Asian Games beginning at the Indonesian capital Jakarta from August 18.
Dutee qualified in the 200-metre event clocking 23:46 seconds at the ongoing 58th Senior National Athletics Championship in Guwahati, Assam.
“I am confident that I will also qualify in the 100-metre sprint and 4X100-metre relay event and win a medal for my state and country,” she told mediapersons.
Besides, Jauna Murmu also qualified for the Asian Games as she won a gold medal in the 400-metre hurdles clocking 57:02 seconds setting a new meet record.
