Sambalpur: A doctor in Odisha’s Sambalpur was left stunned when he found a marble slab on unwrapping an online order for a laptop.
The doctor, a resident of Hospital Road, had placed an order for a laptop worth Rs 61,000 with Amazon on February 4, for his son. The package arrived on Thursday.
On finding the marble slab, he attempted to return the product but that option was not available on the site. He then raised a complaint with e-commerce service provider but received no resolution from the company. Having exhausted all options, he lodged a compliant at around 10 pm with Town police, which has begun an investigation to ascertain whether the incident was due to an error or a deliberate act of fraud.
Suspecting that the switch might have occurred during the delivery process, police have reportedly summoned the delivery boy and the manager of the godown at Bareipali, where stocks are kept, sources said.
