Bhubaneswar: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highly appreciated the arrangements made by the Odisha government for the three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to be held in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking to media persons on his arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city, Jaishankar said chief minister and his team have made elaborate arrangements for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) to start on January 8.
“I was in contact with the chief minister and his team for the preparation of PBD. The chief minister told me that all arrangements have been completed. The Prime Minister will also attend the event. I am sure it will be a grand and successful PBD,” he said.
Earlier, the chief minister told the media that though this was major event being organised by his government after coming to power, all possible steps would be taken to make it successful.
“We have look after all aspects of organising the PBD. The prime minister had also told me to take special care of the event. Accordingly, we have lined a host of programmes. I am sure the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be better than the last one,” he said.
