Puri: Globally acclaimed artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a 3D sand art with the message ‘Stop Pollution’, keeping with the theme of this year’s Earth Day, on Puri sea beach on Friday.
On Sunday, the whole world will celebrate the place they call their home with Earth Day. The theme this year is ‘End Plastic Pollution’.
The topic is close to the Padma awardee, who had resorted to hunger strike in July last year over the state government’s poor cleanliness measures at Puri beach. He later fell ill and had to be hospitalised. But it was enough to wake up the authorities, as Puri Municipal Corporation started a massive beach cleaning process.
