Bhubaneswar: Tremors were felt in many parts of Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir as an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred 70 km southeast of Fayzabad in Afghanistan around 11.19 am on Sunday.
The quake occurred at a depth of 220 km in border region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan and this considerably reduced its devastating impact, according to National Centre for Seismology.
No loss of life or property has been reported so far.
