The New Zealand government has withdrawn the Tsunami warning, which was issued following an earthquake in the region on Friday morning.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 hit East of North Island, New Zealand at 06:57 am.
After being evacuated, residents living in coastal areas of the North Island were allowed to return home but were warned to stay off beaches, the BBC reported.
