Sambalpur: With an aim to eliminate all unmanned level crossing in Sambalpur Division, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has built six Limited-Height Subways (LHS). These were completed in a single block of four and half hours on Thursday.
According to ECoR sources, it is a first-of-its-kind initiative in Indian Railways.
With these, the ECoR has done away with seven unmanned level crossings in Bhawanipatna-Lanjigarh Road Section of Kalahandi.
Despite tremendous challenges involved in launching six LHSs in one go and the unfavourable monsoon weather conditions, Sambalpur Division has achived a rare feat, the sources added.
