Eastern Railway Invites Applications For 2792 Apprentice Posts; Apply Online

The Railway Recruitment Cell, Eastern Railway, has invited online application from interested and eligible candidates for training as apprentices in workshops and divisions of Eastern Railway. The online application process begins on February 14. Last date for applying is March 13.

Apprentices are to be engaged in the following Trades

• Fitter
• Turner
• Welder
• Mechanic (Diesel)
• Painter
• Electrician
• Carpenter
• Machinist
• Wireman
• Blacksmith
• Lineman
• Sheet Metal Worker

Educational Qualification

• The candidates must have passed Class X or equivalent with 50 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognized Board
• The candidates must possess the National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
• For trades like – Welder, Sheet Metal worker, Lineman, carpenter, painter, the required qualification is Class VIII pass with NTC certificate in notified trade.
• Candidate must have passed the required qualification on or before the issue of notification.

Medical Fitness

The interested candidates have to meet the medical fitness requirements as prescribed by the Apprentices Ac, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992.

Age Limit

• The candidates must be between 15-24 years of age as on cutoff date for receiving applications.
• Upper age relaxation is applicable as per official norms.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking the average of the marks obtained by the candidates in Board exams and ITI.

Application Fee

General/UR candidates to pay Rs 100/- as application fee. No application fee to be paid by ST/SC/PWBD candidates.
