Bhubaneswar: In view of the global alert over Ebola outbreaks, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar has stepped up vigilance and issued fresh precautionary measures for incoming passengers.

Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan said thermal screening has been made mandatory for all international and connecting passengers. Authorities will also thoroughly check the 21-day travel

history of every passenger to identify potential risk cases.

If any suspicion arises regarding a passenger’s health condition, they will be immediately isolated and tested as per the standard Ebola screening guidelines issued by the Union Health Ministry, he said.

Special watch is being maintained on passengers arriving from Bangkok, which has been flagged as a transit point of concern. Airport health officials, in coordination with state health authorities, are conducting random checks and maintaining a dedicated isolation facility within the airport premises.

Passengers have been advised to report any symptoms like high fever, body ache, or unusual fatigue. The airport administration has appealed to citizens not to panic but to remain vigilant and cooperate with screening procedures.
