New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture cannot be used on COVID-19 vaccination certificates, especially in states where Assembly elections will be held in March-April.
Following a complaint by the Trinamool Congress earlier this week, the Election Commission (EC) wrote to the Union Health Ministry reiterating that there can be no public promotion of parties or leaders after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) comes in force.
The TMC had said that the use of Modi’s photo was a “blatant misuse of official machinery” and violated the MCC.
