Bhubaneswar: A high-level team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) is all set to undertake a three-day visit to Odisha to review the poll preparedness in in the state ahead of the General Elections to be held this year.
The team, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar, is scheduled to arrive in the state on February 15 and conduct a thorough review till February 17, sources said.
The team would also include Election Commissioner Arun Goel, Deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma and other officials.
The ECI team is scheduled to review the 2024 general election preparedness in the state till February 17. The Election Commission team will hold discussions with national and state-recognised political parties, DEOs, SPs, CPs, Divisional Commissioners, IGs on the first day of their review.
The Commission is slated to hold review meetings with the Chief Electoral Officer, State Police Nodal Officer, CPF Nodal Officer, enforcement agencies, Odisha Chief Secretary and DGP.
It may be noted here that the country will soon go for elections to Lok Sabha, including legislative assemblies in Odisha and some other states. Hence, the ECI team has been reviewing preparedness for the upcoming polls. Before the Odisha tour, the team earlier visited neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
