Koraput: A two-day bandh call given in undivided Koraput district by the joint action committee, demanding a permanent High Court bench, threw life out of gear on Wednesday.
Both state and central government offices were shut down because of the agitation. However, business establishments remained opened in the district.
The joint action committee started the stir on September 4, protesting against gross apathy by the state government and the Centre in not fulfilling the long-standing demand of the people of undivided Koraput district to set up a permanent High Court bench in the district.
