Sambapur: General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) Manoj Sharma on Saturday reviewed the ongoing projects with Divisional Railway Officers of Sambalpur in Odisha.
Durin his visit, Sharma reviewed the under-construction freight train maintenance facility with Routine Over-Hauling (ROH) for freight wagons at Sarla station and advised the officials to focus on its speedy completion.
The freight train maintenance facility with ROH was sanctioned in 2017-18 and was proposed to be established at Maneswar station. Later, the project was shifted to Sarla in view of feasibility. The project was sanctioned Rs 149.37 crore. So far, 65% of construction work of the project has been completed.
The ROH facility at Sarla will boost the economy of the region besides increasing the capacity of ECoR for freight operations.
Sharma also inspected Hirakud railway station and took stock of infrastructural development there. The railway station will be redeveloped soon.
Divisional Railway Manager of Sambalpur Railway Division Vineet Singh, Branch Officers of Sambalpur Division and officials from RITES were also present in the review meeting.
