Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Manoj Sharma on Tuesday inspected the Bhubaneswar new railway station and reviewed developmental works being undertaken there.
Accompanied by senior railway officials, Sharma also took stock of various developmental activities of the railways in connection with passenger facilities and train operations, a release from ECoR said.
The ECoR General Manager advised the officials to work in close coordination with all the agencies including local administration from the grassroots level so that the ongoing works will be done at the earliest.
It may be noted that the ambitious redevelopment project taken up with an investment of Rs 308 crore aims at renovating the Bhubaneswar railway station with world-class infrastructure and amenities. It is a key project being personally monitored by the Railway Minister.
A number of facilities have been developed and are under the process of development in this project. The Railways have laid importance on the development of the new building, air concourse, renovation of platforms, platform shelters, and circulating areas, sources said.
