Bhubaneswar: As part of its investigation into financial deals of Odisha’s honeytrap kingpin Archana Nag, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has drawn up a list of persons associated with her and would issue notice to them.
According to sources, in a follow-up to investigation into financial transactions of Archana, the ED has issued notice to her husband Jagabandhu’s friends Khageswar and Shradhanjali. The two persons, who are absconding, have been asked to appear before ED. If they fail to appear to submit their replies, legal action would be initiated against them, the sources said.
After taking up the case, the ED has already probed the bank accounts of Archana and Jagabandhu. It has come know that Archana made all payments to different people and institutions in cash but received the money from her contacts by withdrawing from ATM kiosks.
It has also come to light during the ED’s investigation that Archana had purchased luxury cars, expensive clocks and other items by making cash payment. The ED officials have conducted investigation into those dealers and showrooms and may issue notices to them. It is likely that the GST authorities may conduct raid on those places, the sources added.
During investigation into Jagabandhu’s transactions, it has been revealed that he had invested a huge amount in a showrrom of used cars at Jaleswar in Balasore district. The GST authorities conducted a raid on the showroom recently.
It may be noted that Archana and her husband allegedly amassed assets worth around Rs 30 crore within a span of four years from 2018 to 2022 by extorting a huge amount of money from high-profile people including political leaders, ministers, businessmen and other bigwigs.
