Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Friday conducted raids on the residence of senior Congress leader and former OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, an 8-10 member ED team has been carrying out the raid at his house at Nayapalli since 7 am. Raids are underway at one more place in the state capital and another in Rourkela.
The central agency is mostly likely carrying out the raids in connection with the mining business of the senior Congress leader’s family members. His brother Dipti Ranjan Patnaik is the owner of the Indrani Patnaik Mines and his house in Rourkela is also being searched, sources added.
There has been no official reactions so far from either ED or Niranjan Patnaik.
