Education During COVID-19: Naveen All Praise For Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appreciated the efforts of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) for imparting quality education through digital platforms.

Expressing his appreciation, Naveen tweeted, “As COVID19 crisis gripped the education sector, OdishaAdarshaVidyalayas rose to the occasion by making digital the new normal for schools. Established with a vision for quality education, OAV is today ensuring that learning has no barriers and that, every student is in focus.”

Advisor cum working president, OAVS, Bijaya Kumar Sahoo said around 120 crore children from 124 countries are out of schools, according to a UNESCO report. In India, the situation is equally bad.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the OAVS teachers are working hard to reach out to the students. We are using Zoom, Google Meet, Whats App and even telephone to teach the students,” Sahoo said.

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya is the idea of the Chief Minister who wanted that every deserving child should get quality English-medium education.
