Bhubaneswar: Eggs were hurled and black flags shown to BJD legislator Dibya Shankar Mishra while he was going to attend inauguration of a college building in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Friday.
According to sources, Mishra, the MLA of Junagarh, and Kalahandi MP Malavika Deo were scheduled to attend the inauguration of newly constructed building of Sarva Mangala College at Golmunda on the day. While the MP arrived at the college on time, Mishra was late.
When Mishra entered the college premises after half an hour, some unidentified youths showed black flags to him and eggs were also hurled at his car near the gate. They also raised slogans “Go Back” against the MLA.
The protesters have not been identified nor any police complaint filed regarding the incident. However, the inaugural function was held without any further disturbance.
It may be noted that bock chairman Bindu Mahanand, who was a staunch supporter of Mishra, had joined BJP and opposed the MLA in the last elections. Bindu changed the party after Mishra allegedly embroiled him in a Vigilance case. Since then Bindu’s supporters have been opposing Mishra on different occasions.
