Puri: Singhadwara police on Friday detained eight persons for flying a
drone camera over Puri’s Jagannath Temple.
The tourists hailing from West Bengal were reportedly operating a
drone camera atop the nearby Emara Matha for shooting a short film.
The camera has been seized by the police.
The Puri district administration has imposed restrictions on flying
drone cameras over the temple and its nearby places after two
incidents of quadcopters were seen flying over the 12th century shrine
on two different occasions (in 2014 and 2016). The quadcopters were
used to capture videos and pictures of the shrine.
