Eight Maoists Gunned Down By Police Near Odisha-Telengana Border

Malkangiri: At least eight Maoists were gunned down by police at Nedamudugu forest in Telengana near the Malkangiri border on Thursday.

A huge cache of explosives, six guns and detonators were seized from the encounter spot.
Acting on a tip-off regarding presence of Maoists at a camp inside the forest, a team of Telangana police conducted raid in the area. Seeing the cops, the Red ultras attempted to flee after firing at the raiding team. The police party retaliated and killed eight Maoists  while some others escaped.
Combing operations have been intensified in the area to nab other Maoists, police sources informed.
