Bhadrak: A major fire mishap at Khadimahara village of Bamkura panchayat under the Dhamnagar block in Bhadrak district reduced eight rooms and properties worth lakhs of rupees into ashes on Sunday midnight.
Four families were rendered homeless.
On being informed, fire brigade unit of Dhamnagar rushed to the spot and doused the flames with the help of locals.
The reason of this mishap was yet to be ascertained.
In January this year, at least 28 families were rendered homeless and properties worth over lakh destroyed in a devastating fire at Khadimahara village under the Dhamnagar block in the district.
According to reports, some villagers noticed fire billowing out of a house at around 2.30 am. Within no time, the fire spread to nearby houses.
The panicked families ran out of their houses to save their lives. However, they could not recover the household articles.
At least 28 families have rendered homeless while some domestic animals, including cows and goats, were charred to death in the devastating fire.
