Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of Durga Puja in the Millennium City.
Briefing the media on Tuesday, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said 30 platoons of force will be deployed at the puja mandaps and sensitive locations while 100 senior officers will remain in charge of maintaining law and order during the festival.
Singh also said for the immersion of the idols, 14 places in and on the outskirts of the city have been identified.
The DCP, however, said the festival will be celebrated in strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol and stern action will be taken for violating the guidelines.
