Kendrapada: An elderly man died and five others sustained grievous injuries after a sudden bee attack at a village in Rajnagar area of Odisha’s Kendrapada district.
As per sources, the incident took place at Jagulaipada village under the jurisdiction of Rajkanika police
station in the district. The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal, aged around 76 years.
Locals said the incident occurred on Friday evening when villagers were near a tree close to the Jagulaipada village school. A swarm of bees suddenly attacked them, leaving six people injured.
All the victims were immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Rajkanika. Bailochan, whose condition was critical, was first shifted to Kendrapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, he succumbed to his injuries later.
The other injured persons are stated to be stable and out of danger.
