Elderly Man Hands Over Son To Police For Attempting Bigamy

Bhadrak: An elderly man in Odisha’s Bhadrak on Wednesday took his son to the police station and handed him over to the cops for allegedly attempting to get married for a second time deceiving his wife of 10 years.

Eyewitnesses saw Bishnu Mohan Jena of Ertal village in Basudevpur of Bhadrak district pulling his son Ajay Kumar Jena and taking him to the police station.

According to sources, Ajay has been married to Tulasi for more than 10 years now and the couple has an eight-year-old son. On Wednesday, Ajay’s family was informed that he was about to get married to another woman in the Basudevpur court. Bishnu and his daughter-in-law Tulasi reached the court premises and dragged him to the police station and handed him over to police.

“We heard that Ajay was getting married to another woman in the court. We rushed to the court and found him sitting with others in a shop near the court premises. I brought him to the police station,” Bishnu told media.

Ajay’s wife Tulasi said they were visiting the Basudevpur hospital with her son when a relative informed them about Ajay’s foul attempt for a second marriage. “We have been married for 10 years now and he is trying to get married again. I want justice,” she told media.
