Cuttack: In a tragic incident, an elderly man died after being attacked by a bull in Bidanasi area of Odisha’s Cuttack city on Monday morning.
Sources said the incident took place at the Maa Bhuasuni temple near the Mahanadi riverbank under the jurisdiction of Bidanasi police station of the city.
The deceased has been identified as a permanent resident of Bidanasi area in Cuttack.
Locals said the bull, which had been roaming near the temple, suddenly attacked the elderly man when he was taking stroll along the riverbank in the early morning. The elderly person died on the spot.
After getting information, a team from Bidanasi police station rushed to the site, took the body for post-mortem and started an investigation into the incident.
It may be noted that several other people were reportedly attacked by the same bull in the area in last few days.
On being informed, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) swung into action and its team captured the aggressive bull.
