Nuapada: A tusker killed a 60-year-old man at Bhainsamundi village under Nuapada police limits in Nuapada district on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Lati Pandey, had gone to an agricultural field near his house to attend nature’s call when the wild animal suddenly appeared and trampled him to death.
The body of the deceased was later spotted by some villagers, who informed the police about the incident.
According to reports, five more elephants have strayed into the human settlements and the locals are in a state of panic.
On Sunday, a person, identified as Luku Munda, was trampled to death by an elephant at Jharbeda village under Bistar forest range in Rourkela of Sundargarh district while he was sleeping in his house.
