Rourkela: Three persons, including an elderly couple, have been arrested for allegedly running a sex racket from a house in Rourkela’s Jagada area under Jhirpani police limits.
The arrested have been identified as Joshna Biswal (62), her husband Upendra Biswal (72), and a customer, Umesh Biswal (36).
Five women were rescued from the premises during the raid conducted by a six-member police team led by inspector-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Naik on Tuesday evening by posing as customers. One woman was found in a compromising position with a customer, while four others were rescued from different rooms in the residential complex. Several objectionable items were also seized from the premises, which has since been sealed, source said.
