Elderly Woman Mauled To Death By Stray Dog In Odisha Village

Balasore: In a shocking incident, an elderly woman was mauled to death by a stray dog at a village in Bhograi area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday.

As per information, the incident took place at Jayanarayanpur village under Bhograi block of the district. The deceased has been identified as Basanti Sahu.

Sources said the woman was sitting outside her house when the stray dog suddenly attacked her. The woman, who sustained critical injuries in the attack, screamed for help.

Her family members rushed to the spot and thrashed the dog to death while trying to rescue the woman.

However, the woman succumbed to injuries in the tragic incident.

The villagers have demanded financial help from the government for the family of the deceased following the incident.

In response to the demand, the local Tehsildar has assured that a team will be sent to the spot for an inquiry into the incident for appropriate steps.
