Electric Version Of Mahindra KUV100 To Replace E2O

Mahindra’s e2o and e2o Plus were discontinued from April 1 following newer safety norms. The company is shaping up an electric version of the KUV100 to fill the electric hatchback space.

Repors said the car, named eKUV100, is expected to go on sale in early 2020. The fully electric car will use new components and not the ones from eVerito.

The car has a range of 120km owing to smaller 15.9kWh. The eVerito gets a 18.5kWh battery. The car, however, has a more powerful 40kW (54.4hp) motor that produces 120Nm torque. It takes 5hours 45minutes to recharge on a regular home charger and 55 minutes on a fast charger. This is faster than the eVerito, which takes 11.5 hours to recharge on a regular charger.

The car weighs 1,200kg, 60kg more than its diesel variant.

The Mahindra eKUV100 is expected to be priced at Rs 9-10 lakh.
