Electrify All Houses In The State By Gandhi Jayanti: CM To Officials

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday asked the officials of energy department to ensure that all houses in Odisha get electricity by October 2, 2018.
Chairing a review meeting on rural electrification at the state secretariat here, the Chief Minister said, “As many as 28 lakh houses are yet to get electricity. The remaining houses should be electrified within the targeted time.”
“Of the total 47, 677 habitations, electricity connection has so far been provided to around 47, 655 habitations. Proactive steps should be taken to electrify the remaining 22 habitations by March-end”, the CM added.
The meeting highlighted that districts like Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Balangir, Kandhamal and Gajapati have been partially electrified.
Among others, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Collectors of all the districts and other senior officials attended the meeting.
