Sambalpur: An elephant was found electrocuted in a paddy field in Sambalpur district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the animal died allegedly after coming in contact with a live wire in the paddy field at Jadu Loisingha under Sadar forest range in the district.
The Sambalpur DFO has ordered a probe into the death of the elephant.
In another incident, a 3-month-old elephant calf was also reportedly found dead in a paddy field at Laugarh village under Aska forest division in Ganjam district.
