Dhenkanal: A 75-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Khatuahata village under Kamkhayanagar West forest Range in Dhenkanal district on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kartik Sahu.
According to sources, the jumbo attacked Sahu when he had gone to a fied to attend to nature’s call.
On being informed, his family members rushed to the spot and took Sahu to Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital. However, doctors there declared him brought dead.
Dhenkanal Divisional Forest Officer informed that compensation will be given to Sahu’s family.
