Angul/Dhenkanal: A woman was trampled to death by an elephant while her husband sustained injuries at Bantala forest range in Odisha’s Angul district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sulochana Biswal of Talagada village. Her husband, Chhabi Biswal, has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.
Chhabil and his wife Sulochana were attacked by the tusker, who was already present at Brinjal field, when they reached their farmland this morning, sources said.
Similarly, Chaitanya Naik of Baradapal village under Hindol Range in Dhenkanal was killed in an elephant attack when he went to a nearby waterbody to attend nature’s call this morning.
