Rourkela: A man was trampled to death by an elephant at Katepur under
Bisra police limits in Rourkela of Sundargarh district late on
Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as George Lugun.
Lugun went nearer to the tusker while trying to drive it away from the
locality with the help of local people and forest personnel. The
elephant hit the victim with its trunk and trampled him to death.
A herd of elephants also entered the human settlements in Dalaki
village under Kuarmunda block of the district and destroyed four
houses last night.
