Bhadrak: An elderly man was allegedly trampled to death by an elephant in Bhadrak district on Saturday.
According to sources, the 70-year-old man, identified as Maguni Behera of Mohantipada village under Bant block, had gone to his mango orchard at around 6.00 am when an elephant attacked him. As the man cried for help, the villagers rushed to the spot.
But by the time they reached there, the elephant had trampled Behera to death and fled.
An elephant herd has been found roaming in Agarpada area on Keonjhar-Mayurbhanj border areas for the last nine days.
