New Delhi: Tesla chief Elon Musk has denied reports about having “secretly fathered” his 12th child, whom he welcomed earlier this year.
He said the baby’s birth was not a secret and all his friends and family were aware of it. The name and sex of the newborn have, however, not been revealed yet.
While denying claims he had tried to keep the child’s arrival under wraps, he said that issuing a press release about it would have been ‘bizarre’. “As for ‘secretly fathered’, that is also false. All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret’,” he told in an exclusive interview to Page Six.
It is his third child with Shivon Zilis, who is Director of special projects at Musk’s brain implant company Neuralink. The first two were twins born in 2021.
The birth of his latest child was first reported by Bloomberg on Friday in its article “Elon Wants You To Have More Babies”. The Tesla CEO is known for his concerns about the fall in birth rates worldwide. He emphasised in the Bloomberg article that 2.1 birth rate is needed for population stability but the global trend shows a decline and is thus a concern.
