Cuttack: The authorities of Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer here on Wednesday sealed the Emergency Ward after a patient tested positive for COVID-19.
Talking to reporters here, Director of the Centre Lalatendu Sarangi said that the patient from Ganjam district was admitted to the Emergency ward on June 19 and was undergoing chemotherapy. The patient was shifted to KIMS COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar after he was found to have contracted the virus.
Stating that the Emergency Ward has been sealed and completely sanitized, he said that the doctors and the staff nurses, who have come in contact with the patient, will be sent to home quarantine.
Sarangi further said that all doctors and staff of the centre will undergo COVID-19 test on Thursday.
Two other patients and their attendants, who were in the ward, will also undergo the test, he added.
